Herbalist and artist Barrie Cohen built a business making one-of-a-kind hand-dyed clothing and goods. But as her craft evolved over time, she realized her existing company no longer reflected the bigger vision she had for her work. We partnered with Barrie to create a brand identity that would reflect her passion for creating healing, energy-infused clothing, moving the company from a collection of products to a purpose-driven brand.
At its core, Anthemia is about celebrating the ritual of dressing with intention. The process behind the clothing is rooted in traditional practices of plant and energy healing, designed to support the modern woman as she moves through her day. This became our position for the brand, imparted with the tagline “Dress with intention.”
To convey the intimacy of Anthemia's offerings, we created design elements that felt personal, from the hand lettered logo done with a quill and ink to a typewriter font reminiscent of Grandma’s recipe cards. Dye and ritual ingredients like cochineal, marigold, smoke, indigo, and rose petal inspired the color palette. The result allows Anthemia to maintain a bespoke, intimate tone while conveying an aspirational message: these unique keepsakes are a recipe for modern life.
